Measurements

Many different measurements for measuring the amount of goods are used in transport and some of the most wide-spread measurements of an ideal delivery used in road carriage and sea transport are as follows:

When transporting half loads the cost of transport is accounted for in conformity with the corresponding bigger measurement – either the weight or the holding capacity of the cargo.

E.g. 1 EUR pallet, 1 m3, 300 kg, accounts as 1 EUR pallet. Hereby, the biggest measurement is EUR pallet. If 1 EUR pallet is 1 m3, 1400 kg, means that the costs is as much as 2 EUR per pallet because the biggest measurement is the weight of the goods.

The holding capacity of goods is established in conformity with various international requirements like the size and mass of trucks permitted on roads.
The most common maximum measurements permitted on road carriers are as follows:

  • 34 EUR pallets

    (1 200 x 800 mm)

  • 26 FIN pallets

    (1 200 x 1 000 mm)

  • 85 m3 - 112 m3

    ( kas täis- või poolhaagis)

  • 13,6 ldm
